Arvada is located in the central part of the State of Colorado in Jefferson and Adams County. Arvada claims the title of "Celery Capital of the World". Arvada is surrounded by Leyden and West to the northwest; West Central, Westminster, South Central and South to the north; Twin Lakes and Western Hills to the northeast; Westminster East to the east; Denver, Lakeside and Mountain View to the southeast; Edge Water and Lakewood to the south; Wheat Ridge to the southwest; and White Ranch Open Space Park to the west. Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (BJC) is a used almost exclusively for general and corporate aviation because of its location close to the Denver business district. Also found in the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport are restaurants, a hotel and flight schools. The airport is located only a seventeen minutes drive from downtown Arvada.
