Chicago Illinois is adjacent to Lake Michigan and is the largest city located on the Great Lakes. Chicago is often referred to as "Chicagoland" and is located between Interstate 94 and Interstate 294. Summers are warm & humid . Winters are cold, snowy and windy with temperatures below freezing. Spring and Fall are mild with low humidity.

Chicago is served by two major international airports, Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) and Chicago O'Hare International (ORD). Navy Pier is a very successful recreational center next to Chicago's downtown area. With many attractions, the most eye-catching is the 148 ft Ferris Wheel. Near the Ferris Wheel is a 44ft high musical carousel with 36 hand-painted animals. The skyline stage, a 100ft high vaulted roof structure, is used as an ice skating rink during wintertime and as a 1500-seat theater during summer. The Navy Pier is also a starting point for many boat tours such as a trip on a 148ft high, four-masted schooner or hopping on one of the 4 seadogs reaching speeds of up to 25 knots. Architecture cruises and water taxis are also available. Visitors can also opt to take a romantic dinner cruise or even charter ships. One of the boats you can charter is the historic 'El Presidente' which was used by US presidents.
Grant Park is in the Loop community area of Chicago. The park's most notable features are Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain and the Art Institute of Chicago. Grant Park is frequently referred to as the city's front yard. In 2001, Grant park was expanded to the north with the addition of the 93,000 sq m Millennium Park. The park includes an outdoor music pavilion which can accommodate up to 4,000 people, an ice rink and a theater, which was built below ground. The Museum Campus is home to The Field Museum and the Adler Planetarium, two excellent museums. Also located at Museum Campus is the Shedd Aquarium, one of the largest indoor aquariums with more than 8,000 aquatic animals representing more than 700 species from all parts of the world.
Chicago has been a world center in higher education and research. Three universities in or immediately adjoining the city, Northwestern University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the University of Chicago, are among the top echelon.
The Chicago area has the largest concentration of seminaries and theological schools outside the Vatican. A few of these include the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago Theoligical Seminary and the Moody Bible Institute.
Chicago can lay claim to a number of regional specialties, among these are its nationally renowned deep-dish pizza and Polish sausage.
