Escondido, California

Escondido is located in the southwestern part of California in the San Diego County.  Escondido is also located in a shallow valley surrounded by rocky hills thus explaining the city’s name of Escondido, which means “hidden” in Spanish.  Escondido has several nicknames, which are: “Hidden Valley”, “The Hidden City”, “The Heart of San Diego North” and “Esco”.  Some of the places surrounding Escondido include: San Marcos and Carlsbad on the west, Vista on the Northwest, Jesmond Dene on the north, Valley Center on the northeast, Cleveland National Forest on the east, San Pasqual and Ramona on the southeast, Del Rios on the south and Encinitas on the southwest.
