New Bedford also known as "The Whaling City" is located in the southeastern part of Massachusetts in Bristol County. Major roads serving New Bedford include: Massachusetts State Route 105, Massachusetts State Route 140, Massachusetts State Route 18, US Route 6 and Interstate Highway 195.

New Bedford Regional Airport (EWB) is public airport owned and operated by the City of New Bedford. A large portion of the airport's traffic derives from general aviation; several fixed base operators serve the airport. Cape Air is the only airline providing scheduled passenger service to New Bedford Regional with direct destinations to Nantucket.

T. F. Green Airport (PVD) is the busiest airport in the State of Rhode Island and it was the first state owned airport in the U.S. The airport can be reached after a forty-one minutes drive from New Bedford.
