Newton also known as "The Garden City" is located in the eastern part of Massachusetts in Middlesex County. Newton is surrounded by: Auburndale, Weston, Wayland and Sudbury to the northwest; Newton Upper Falls, Nonantum, Watertown and Waltham to the north; Chestnut Hill, Cambridge, Somerville and Winter Hill to the northeast; Brookline, Fisher Hill, Aspinwall Hill and Central Ville to the east; Jamaica Plain, Roselindale, Mattapan and Milton Village to the southeast; Newton Lower Falls, Needham, Dedham and Westwood to the south; Wellesley, Babason Park, Dover and Sherborn to the southwest; and Waban, Auburndale, Farmingham and Farmingham Center to the west. Major roads serving Newton include: Massachusetts State Route 128, Massachusetts State Route 135, Massachusetts State Route 16, Massachusetts State Route 30, Massachusetts State Route 9, US Route 20, Interstate Highway 90, Interstate Highway 93 and Interstate Highway 95.

Logan International Airport (BOS) is the busiest airport in the State of Massachusetts. The airport is served by many different airlines including: Continental Airlines, Continental Express, Delta Air Lines, Delta Connection, Delta Shuttle, Northwest Airlink, American Airlines, American Eagle, Spirit Airlines, Virgin America, Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz, Alaska Airlines, US Airways, US Airways Express and US Airways Shuttle. Logan International is located twenty-three minutes from Newton.

Hanscom Field (BED) is a mid-sized publically owned airport. The airport can be reached by car after a twenty-two minutes drive from downtown Newton. The airport's only commercial airline is Linear Air providing direct service to Nantucket.

Norwood Memorial Airport (OWD) is a public airport owned by the Town of Norwood. Currently the airport is only used for general aviation and charter flight services. Norwood Memorial Airport can be reached after a twenty minutes flight from downtown Newton.

New Bedford Regional Airport (EWB) is public airport owned and operated by the City of New Bedford. A large portion of the airport's traffic derives from general aviation; several fixed base operators serve the airport. Cape Air is the only airline providing scheduled passenger service to New Bedford Regional with direct destinations to Nantucket.
