Shreveport also known as "318", "Port City", "Ratchet City" and "River City" is located in the northwestern part of Louisiana in Caddo and Bossier Parish County. Major roads serving Shreveport include: Louisiana State Route 1, Louisiana State Route 3132, Louisiana State Route 371, Louisiana State Route 7, Louisiana State Route 71, Louisiana State Route 80, US Route 171, US Route 71, US Route 80, Interstate Highway 20, Interstate Highway 49 and Interstate Highway 220.

Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV) is the main commercial airport serving Shreveport and it is owned and operated by the city. The airport can be reached after a sixteen minutes drive from Shreveport.
