Springfield, Illinois
Springfield is the capital of Illinois and is located in the central part of Illinois in Sangamon County. Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport (SPI) is a small regional airport owned by the city of Springfield. The airport is located a ten minutes drive from Springfield. The airport is served by American Eagle, Direct Air and United Express. Capital Airport Air National Guard Station is home to the 183d Fighter Wing of the Illinois Air National Guard.
Decatur Airport is a small public airport owned by the city of Decatur. The airport can be reached after a fifty-eight minutes drive from downtown Springfield. Only Great Lakes Airlines provides scheduled commercial service to Decatur Airport.
Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI) is a small public airport, it can be reached by car after a one-hour and fifteen minutes drive from downtown Springfield. In addition to a high amount of general aviation traffic the airport is also served by several commercial airlines.
