Springfield also known as "City of Homes" and "Cradle of Basketball" is located in the southern part of Massachusetts in Hampden County. Major roads serving Springfield include: Massachusetts State Route 10, Massachusetts State Route 168, Massachusetts State Route 190, Massachusetts State Route 21, Massachusetts State Route 57, Massachusetts State Route 83, US Route 5, Interstate Highway 90, Interstate Highway 91, Interstate Highway 291 and Interstate Highway 391.

Barnes Municipal Airport (BAF) is a joint civil and military airport. The airport mostly used for general aviation and military operations and it is home to several fixed base operators. Barnes Municipal Airport can be reached after a twenty minutes drive from Springfield.

Bradley International Airport (BDL) can be reached by car after a twenty-four minutes drive from Springfield. Bradley International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Connecticut and it is served by a variety of airlines.
