Torrance, California, US
Torrance is located in the southwest corner on California within Los Angeles County. Torrance is surrounded by Redondo Beach to the west; Manhattan Beach to the north west; Hawthorn to the north; Gardena and Compton to the north east; Carson to the east and Rancho Palo Verde to the south. Mainly four California State Routes and two Interstate Highways, which are California State Route 1, California State Route 91, California State Route 107, Interstate Highway 110 and Interstate Highway 405, serve Torrance.
There are three Amtrak stations near Torrance; the closet is located in San Pedro, only 8 miles away; followed by the Long Beach station located 12 miles away and lastly the Los Angeles station which is located 17 miles away. Public transportation is provided by Torrance Transit and provides transportation both within Torrance and to neighboring communities. There are several reliable taxi companies serving Torrance including the Yellow Cab Company and Express Taxi.
Torrance Municipal Airport (TOA) is about a six-minute drive from downtown Torrance and provides service mostly to private aircraft. There are several other services provided at this airport, which include flight instruction, and aircraft repair. Torrance Municipal Airport also houses Robinson Helicopter Company.
